SHINDIG

So, last night I played at SHINDIG in the rather beautiful setting of Cambridge’s Unitarian Church.  Thank you all that came, I had a wonderful evening!11130244_973616849316119_8395151095642193740_n-2

My performance was a one-off improvisation with the fantastically-talented composer Henri Salonen, who accompanied my tinkerings on the piano with guitar, double bass, and drums.

In addition to Henri’s improvisations, we were accompanied by novelist, playwright and screenwriter Gytha Lodge, who spun a beautiful narrative to accompany our soundscapes.Live in Cambridge

Other performers on the bill included Tim and Ups, beat poets from Cambridge whose had me (and everyone else!) completely engrossed with their take on life, loves, insecurity, money and everything else inbetween.

Which doesn’t really leave much that they didn’t cover.

The night finished with the soaring melodies of Tomorrow We Sail; a seven piece Leeds-based band who managed to squeeze their enormous post-rocky sound, not to mention their huge musical ensemble, in the Unitarian Church to send us all away in a near dream-like state.

All absolutely wonderful stuff.
